As I was moving about my day, a thought came to mind, when people were pushing me to write a book. They said, “Calvin, I love your notes and your blogs, you have to write a book,” or “You already have so much, you could just bundle this up and sell this! I would pay $14 for what you have now!”

I became excited. Excited about the possibility to impact so many lives, to build up people and to $$$ :) Put a little money in my pocket. But, as I tried to put things together I realized that it just wasn’t going well. I had road block in front of road block, the plans that I had to review content and put together a book could never come together. I had put forth all of this energy and pssst went no where.

Often in this American culture of overnight success, we can create in us premature ejaculation syndrome. Where we see other people getting what we desire, at a young age or quickly and we want the same thing. Then we have a desire, gift or ability and we put forth all of our energy and then pssst nothing happens. We look at ourselves in disgust, say maybe it wasn’t meant to be or I just failed.

When it is the complete opposite, you just rushed too quickly.

There is a weight to success.

You must be able to bear that weight or it can kill you.

That is beauty of the progress of success (which I will write about later). The process of success builds the foundation that can bear the weight of success. The greater the success, the greater the foundation required. If you want just a little bit of success, then you can have a few cracks in your foundation. However, if you want success that will impact the world and change people’s lives for generations to come, that type of success requires a deep and strong foundation.

So, take the time to develop your foundation. Invest in the process of success. Enjoy the roadblocks and opportunities where you succeed and where you fail. Because in all of that, a man/woman is built that can withstand the pressures and weight of the success that you are destined to achieve.

Destiny Is Not Promised: Do Not Become Lost in the Journey

Posted: May 20th, 2009 | Author: Calvin | Filed under: Faith, Personal Development | Tags: , , , , | No Comments »

We are all created to do great things and be great people. We are all created to be remembered by history. We are all created equal that is not something that is just promised by the United States Constitution, but as a man or woman you are created equal. Note that created equal does not mean that you are living equal. God forbid, any missing body members, you have two arms, one brain, two legs, etc.

However, created equal does not equate to living equal.

It is your duty and your job on earth to ensure that you live a remarkable life. You have been created with everything that you need to overcome but until you put them into play you will never know what you are truly capable of. Some call it living on the edge, until you get out of the boat and walk on water, you will never know how far you can go.

Life is designed to push back against you achieving your destiny. It is a bottom line fact, systems, rules, regulations, and people are set up as road blocks to stop you from achieving your personal destiny. You have to come to the emotional point, I will not give up, I will not give up and I can do this.

Your mother can not do it for you, your father can not do it for you, and your friends can not do it for you. The only way that you can reach and manifest your destiny is when the world pushes you up against a corner, you demand on yourself to push back. It is a learned skill, one that when master will ensure that you never lose again in your life.

Make today your day. Make today be the day that you stop allowing life to pass you by. Get angry, get focused, and get your destiny.

No one is holding up your stuff. The only reason why you are in the life that you are living now is because you accept it. How do I know that? Because the only reason why I am in the life that I am in now, is because I accepted it. Well, here is a public notice of a private declaration, I reject the areas and things in my life that are not apart of my destiny and I replace them with my aspects and features of my destiny that were promised to me as a human created on this earth.

Today is the day. Now is the time. My world is rearranged according to my words and my beliefs. If you don’t believe me, just keep living, you will see.

Dont Beat Yourself Up

Living in a world like we do today, we all feel like we should do more, shouldn’t had made this mistake and overall should be farther along in life.

But the beautiful thing is that we are still living life now and God is proud and in love with you just for being you. He shows us His love by the blessings and just things that just happen for us but also in pratical ways like having family and friends that love and encourage you.

So, don’t beat yourself up, we all have areas to come up in but lets spend a few moments on all the great things we do right. No need to apply more pressure, remember you are loved!

Have a great day and know you are an amazingly, special and awesome person.

Once Heard a Song… There’s a Blessing in a Storm

Posted: March 2nd, 2009 | Author: Calvin | Filed under: Faith, Personal Development | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

I once heard a song, “There’s a blessing in a storm.” Butl, I didn’t really dig it like, who really wants a storm in the first place. Now that I am in the storm, feeling alone, crying hurting, is this the blessing? How soon can I get out of this storm and back to regular life.

However, as I have kept on living, I have become better at finding the blessing.

When I say better, I mean to be able to be in a crappy, loathful, distasteful situation and see the blessing. When we are able to spend our time in a situation but see the blessing then that is how we become able to overcome the situation. There is a positive aspect of every situation that we go through.

The process to finding that blessing is a direct one that we must take or else we find ourselves in the situation for much longer than we ever desired.

Steps:
1. Accepting the Reality of Where We Are

This can be the hardest step but it is the most real step. If you are in debt over your eyes, you have to realize it, write down the number figure out what the debt is. If you are in a relationship that is hurting you, you have to realize it, accept the fact of where you are. If you are failing a class, you have to just look at your tests and accept the reality of your current situation.

This is creating the bottom of the whole. Someone once told me, the way to get out of a hole is to stop digging. To stop digging we must figure out where we are.

2. Determine the Path Out

Many people try to figure out how to get out before you know where you are and thus feel like there is no way out. But when you already have found the bottom of the whole, you can figure out exactly how to get out.

Truly, if we are too be honest with ourselves, we know how to get out. The challenge is do we decide to do what we have to do so we can get out of the storm.

If you truly dont know where to go, ask someone with wisdom (not a friend that is in the same situation you are in, someone with true wisdom that can help

3. Make the Decision – It is only hard in thought.

When we know what we are to do but we have such a challenge doing it, it is not because the actual decision is hard it is because we have a perception (a mental expectation) that it will be challenging and hard but when we have to do what we have to do, we have to do it. You and I both know that when we start going down the road, it will open up and flow out very easily.

Dang! Someone called and broke my concentration…. If it comes back to me, I will finish, if not I hope this impacts someone….

Dang Nabit! :) wasn’t that old school…

i have opportunities to have a bad day but choose to make everyday a great day. Question, what makes a day bad? it isn’t what goes on in the day but your response to that day.

So, I have taught my self how to make a decisions, deal with real world, negative situations in a positive matter. I make a choice that I will never have a bad day in my life and I can’t remember the last time I had one.

So, I hope that you inspire and make a decision that from now on, you choose not to have another bad day in your life.

Do bad things happen to me, of course! But do I allow those bad things to change my state of mind. No. Because I know that no matter what happens to me today, I am still blessed and loved by someone. Life is not over and I have another day to make it better.

Just my thoughts…

Caner Update from John Hopkins – Good Read to Know and To Prevent Cancer

John Hopkins Update – Good article

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY (‘TRY’, BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person’s lifetime.

3 When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

*CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes likeNutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses, but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg’s aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body’s killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body’s normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor.Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Cast le Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Pa per isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.
This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life.
