The North Carolina A&T State University Student Affairs, Student Union, University Observance Committee and Lyceum Committee are proud to present to you “The Dream No Longer His, Now Ours,” event featuring CNN Analyst, TV One Commentator, Award Winning Journalist and Author Roland Martin.
A limited number of tickets (I estimate under 500 to view it in person, there is an overflow thanks to technology) are available to A&T Students and the general community for FREE at the North Carolina A&T Ticket Office.
Unfortunately, the only way to get tickets is to actually go on campus and buy the tickets in person.

A friend of mine is taking a trip to India to work alongside members of local women’s savings groups as part of Habitat’s “Women Build” Initiative. She is raising just under $2,000.00. If you can spare a few dollars and support her cause please do. Below is more information.
—————————————————————————–
Here Description and Request:
In March 2010, Habitat India volunteers will work alongside members of local women’s savings groups as part of Habitat’s “Women Build” initiative.
We will be building in partnership with rural and underprivileged Indian women who have who have formed microfinance self-help groups so that they can save money to build better lives for their families.
I’ll be traveling to Bangalore, India from March 5th through March 18th and I’ll be personally covering the cost of my plane ticket and in addition, each team member must raise $1,950 to participate in the trip to cover the cost of food, room and board and building supplies. I’d really appreciate your help in supporting my efforts.
You can donate here.
Thanks in advance and I’ll be sure to share with you my experience on this trip. If you have any additional questions please ask her!

As it is time to go into our storages and find the Holiday Decorations, I ask that as you go looking you keep this in mind.
As you rummage through your old stuff, please know that a lot of your unused items could find a home more meaningful than eBay. I know of several non profits that could use gently used items from music instruments, to workout equipment, to automobiles and land. Plus all donations would be tax deductible.
So, if you are considering selling that old instrument or car, perhaps consider donating it to one of the worthy non profits I am involved with and make a true difference in someone’s wallet.
It is the season for giving!

Twitter is an amazing service and I love it. It has become apart of my life (follow me) but I have noticed that everyone is using Twitter for different reasons and some may not understand all of the features.
Often times when someone sends me a reply to a message I have posted, I may send you a Direct Message rather than another reply. Just wanted to offer an explanation of why:
- Privacy: There comes in a point in every conversation when the topic has become to private for all of the internet to know.
- Bore the People: I have had to unfollow a few people that make their twitter into a public conversation. I understand and respect some public conversation (I do it myself, when I leave an option for someone else to comment) but most times no one else needs to know that level of detail.
- Some Still Use Their Phone (i.e. Text): I know some followers receive my tweets in text messages and maybe some of yours are doing the same thing. Do you really want that person to become point 2 (Bore the People)?
So just a few thoughts on why I choose to DM much more than @.

If a song ever defined me, it would be this song, The Only Thing by Ronnie Freeman.
It is a beautifully written, played, sung song. You can here it here and go down to “The Only Thing.”
Especially the second verse…
I know today’s post is short but the song will say all that I could possibly communicate.
